Krain Kan ceremony

Ceremony for fallen comrades at ABSDF 102 Krain Kan camp (circa 1990). Kyaw Soe Lay (front right-red shirt) was killed in action.

This was taken at Krain Kan during the ceremony for our fallen members of 102 camp. I can only see Win Naing (tall white shirt in the middle) clearly.

Uzin Win Oo

This photo was taken at Pa-nan-Htaw monastry boat ramp after we moved from Three Pagoda Pass was fallen. We were preparing to attack Ye town. Kya-thit Mg Paing was killed in action later in Ye township. Win Oo is in monkhood now and resides in FortWayne, IN.

Anybody knows what happened to Theik Htoo Hlaing and Ye Lwin. I know Ko Ko Naing is in Maryland.

This was the remain of 102 office in Sangkhlaburi (Mon side). We moved to Nat Ein Daung.

Krain Kan (ceremony for fallen 102 members)

From left to right: Ko Thet (Myin Gyi) from 101 company 2, Ko Htee and Ko Nyo. They were preparing food for the Buddhist ceremony for our fallen members (Ko Ko Oo, Than Bo and Kyaw Soe Lay) of 102 Battallion. I was recuperating in a front line from a wound got at the same fight.

Ko Nyo at our camp clinic

This is Ko Nyo at our clinic. We built is by ourselves. Roof was made from palm leaves. Wall, frame, bed and everything else from bamboo. Bamboo is abundant in the area. I was wondering how would we live or survive without bamboo. We ate bamboo shoot. We used bamboo as frame, wall, floor to build. This camp again was moved after less than one year.

Ko Nyo and his family came to the US. They stayed with me for 6 months and moved on as any immigrants. Now, he is running a restaurant in Columbia, SC. Here is his restaurant. Lwin Mar Aye, his wife is a great chef.

This is their dinner (Phwat). Guru (far right) recently died in Mae Sot. Saya Aung Myint Soe (far left) resettled in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The picture was taken at Krain Kan camp.

Ko Aung Thu Nyein leaving for Front Line (Circa 1990)

This picture of Ko Aung Thu Nyein (ABSDF 101, Company 2) and his men was taken before they left for front line. We moved to this area after the Three Pagoda Pass camp was taken by the Burmese army. The camp was located on the bank of a stream. Our camp was located right next to theirs. We stayed there for about 1 year and moved to Nat Ein Daung. Again, the Thai government forced us out.
