We are having a barbecue party at the back of my apartment (1993?) in Richmond.

My friend Jesse

My friend Jesse's family and me ( I was holding Esther.) Jesse, me and Abdul were close friends during undergraduate years. He is Chinese. I am Burmese and Abdul is Parkistani. Jesse is a nephrologist now and practices in CA.

Ko Nyo

This was taken at Richmond airport when they first arrived to the US. They stayed with me for a while and then moved on. Ko Nyo now opens a restaurant in Columbia, SC. (Far left is Sai Mon. They later moved to Indiana.)

Friends in Richmond

Tin and Myo. Tin is now an engineer at a nuclear power plant. Myo is a medical resident at Tulane University. He also went to MCV medical school. I remember going to PTA meeting with them when they first arrived. His parents are very nice and hardworking people and they raised the children very well. Their older brother is also an engineer.

Me, a blood banker

I worked at (then) Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth Health System) hospital as a blood banker. That was my first job out of school. I was a certified medical technologist. Those are my colleagues. I had a good time there. I worked there from 1995-1996. Then, I worked there part time during medical school.
