Khin Soe, Tin Tun, Aung Naing (Ka Yin Ma)
All three in the front row (left to right- Khin Soe, Tin Tun, Aung Naing-Ka Yin Ma) were not with us anymore. Khin Soe and Tin Tun were killed in action. Aung Naing died from unknown illness. We were marching to Three Pagoda Pass village to attend the first anniversary of 8.8.88 uprising.

I think Khin Soe was killed in Aroutong fighting. He was just on my right hand side when he got shot. Another guy and I pulled his body and dropped in a fox hole under a house. I think we (101) owe a lot to 102. We were under heavy attack from the rubber tree lines where our platton (14 guys) was positioned. 30 minutes into action, only our platton was fighting with enimies. Enimies were attacking only one place. I went and asked mons and 102. Mons were smoking and walking around amid fighting was taking place on our side. 102 and Mon commonder moved into our left side and attacked hard. Especially Khin Soe fought really hard. We lost 2 from 101, Kyaw Soe and another youngest guy. 2 of them were wounded. 102 lost 3 or 4. We did also kill around 40 enimies man wounded, told by villgers came from Ye town next day. We slaute you all those who sacrified for us. In these 20 years, I never passby a day I don't think about those men I share food, shoes, bed, smoke, clothes, tears, smiles, silent, bulltes, love, care, trust, brotherhood and courage under fire. Yes, of course we all were scare. But we did what we had to do when history demanded. May you all rest in peace!!! Ko Thet (101).
ReplyDeleteThank you Ko Thet. I did not know the details of the fight until you told us. Those fallen should not be forgotten.
